Happy Birthday Mark!

Sunday we celebrated Mark's Birthday!  He & Gracie got to spend some time doing their favorite thing....
Special thank you to my Aunt Maureen who watched Gracie while Mark & I went to an awesome dinner at ZED 451!  It was SO great to go out!

Friday Play Dates

Gracie had her first play dates on Friday!  First with my friend Kate & Meghan with their adorable children...Ally who is 5, Michael who is 1 1/2 and Lauren who is just a few days younger than Gracie!  As you can see, Gracie is the one snoozing on the left....
Then we headed to Bridgeport for a play date with Great Grandma (aka GG).

The Great Blizzard of 2011

On February 2nd, Chicago received 21 inches of snow.  Gracie's original due date was February 7th, so we were very happy she came early and not born on Lake Shore Drive where some poor lady had to snowmobiled to the hospital for delivery.  Below is the picture out our window.

Erin and I thought we were so lucky having our car in the garage rather than parked on the street, then we opened the garage door and saw this poor family digging out the alley.  We promptly went back inside and ordered in food.

Resemblance?

Just in case you weren't sure who Gracie resembles, check out this series of pictures:

Erin's parents found this picture of Jim and Erin when she first born.  Notice the same skinny legs, long toes, and dark hair.

We had to recreate the moment from 1976.  Mark isn't quite as patriotic as Jim so he had to search the internet for a USA shirt.  Luckily he had the jeans shorts on hand from his White Sox fan Halloween costume from 2009.

Happy Valentines Day from Gracie

Our adorable Irish Viking Girl...

40 Hours Later in New York...

My sister Nora gave birth to our new Nephew Rory James Taylor!  Gracie was 2 days old and already had a younger cousin!  We cannot wait to meet Rory in March for their joint Christening.  Here is Rory with big brother Aidan

Watching the Bears Packers Game

We thought that Gracie was in such a hurry to be born so she could see the Bears beat the Packers & play in the Superbowl!  We all know that didn't happen though.

The big ride home

Since Gacie was so early, none of her pre-purchased going home outfits fit her

The proud grandparents meet Gracie for the first time

Grandma Ryan
Grandpa Ryan
Papa Mogensen and Nonnie joined in the fun via skype.

Grace Elizabeth arrives on January 20th, 2011 at 5:22pm

The Mogensen genes have been pretty strong with Mark's nieces and nephews so we were expecting a chunky blonde-haired boy, but instead out popped Erin's mini-me.  Gracie was born 2 and a half weeks early weighing in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and stretching out to 20 inches long.  She has Erin's skinny legs and dark hair.  Erin insists she got Mark's tan skin, long eye lashes, and chin.
