Where have the Chi-town Mogy’s been??

2012 has been an incredible year already!  Just after Gracie turned one (hard to believe) Mark got a new job with Hyatt (hello Hyatt perks!) and I got a promotion at my job.  Just when we thought we couldn’t get any luckier we found out that our family will soon be a family of four!  Yep, we are expecting our next Mogy around September 25th (which will be Mark’s Grandmother’s 103rd Birthday).  Gracie is excited to be a big sister….so we think!  We also went to visit Nora & Al in New York for a quick weekend (Thank you Mom & Dad for babysitting), my sister & I went to LA to visit my Brother for a fun siblings weekend and then we got to go to Palm Springs again in April to see the Idaho Mogys!

This year has been a wild ride and so fun already – just wait till September!

Here are some photos to recap the first four months of the year….

Bath Time! (Jan 2012)

It only took a year, but Grace final likes taking baths.

She kind of looks like Ed Grimley with this hairdo, "I must say"

HAPPY EASTER!

We had  a deliscious Easter dinner at my Aunt Maureen & Uncle Mike’s cool condo in the West Loop.

Gracie & Grandma

Gracie & her favorite person in the entire world – GG!  Great Grandma gets the best reactions from Grace.  Every time she sees her she tries to leap out of my arms to get to GG!

Bozo the Clown try outs?

Who yu callin' bozo??? If Gracie dyes her hair red, she has a shot as a Bozo the Clown impersonator.

BEAUTIFUL LA QUINTA!

We were so fortunate to be able to spend 5 gorgeous days in Palm Springs California with the Mogensens!  Dennis & Kathy are the best hosts and it is always so fun to see Tom, Laura, Alice Balice & Mr. Kyle…and we get to enjoy Tom’s gourmet cooking each night. YUM!

Gracie loved the pool! It was so fun.  Her favorite spot was sitting on the top step of the Jacuzzi watching her cousins.

Laura organized an Easter Egg hunt for the kiddos in honor of Kyle’s 3rd Birthday.  Here is the very patient birthday boy allowing his little cousin to ransack his loot.  Thank you Naunny for Gracie’s adorable new dress!

Uncle Mark & some cutie-pa-tooties!

Playing with Mom

Now that I am in to my second trimester, chocolate ice cream at the end of the night is a new family tradition.  Gracie is going to be a great ice cream wing-man this summer!  Look out DQ!

St. Patrick’s day

Even though Grace is 100% Danish on the outside, I know there is a lot of Irish on the inside!

Check out these dance moves….
(Gracie dancing at Mercy Home Party)

Hanging out with her Aunt Nora

Nora and Al came in for a wedding and Grandma Shirley’s 90th birthday.

Gracie’s favorite Toy…

…is dad’s belt. Followed closely by car keys and empty plastic water bottles.

Dad’s 36th birthday

Both Gracie and Dad enjoyed chocolate chip mint ice cream cake for 36th birthday.  Thanks Erin.

Who loves hot dogs?

Godfather / Uncle Tom came in town and treated Grace to her first River Road hot dog.  Gene’s and Jude’s was voted the best hot dog in the country.  The hot dogs with French fries mashed together is well worth the 50 minute wait.

Showing off her baby blues

Erin and Gracie walked by our neighbor’s photo shoot and the photographer took this great picture of Grace.  When our nephew Aidan sees this picture, he says, “Gracie Sad”.

Gracie’s 1st birthday

Grandpa, Grandma, GG, Grauntie Maureen, Steve, and Courtney joined us to celebrate Gracie’s 1st birthday.  Gracie was showered with gifts, but it seemed like she liked the wrapping paper more than any of the gifts.

Yummy Cake! I think Grace’s life is forever changed now that she has had dessert…
